Downing Advocate of the Year Award in 2011. Additionally, she was recognized by the Worcester County Bar Association with the Liberty Bell Award in 2021 for her outstanding contributions to the community.

In her professional affiliations, Margaret is a member of the Advocate National Association of Prosecutors, further demonstrating her commitment to her field. She was formerly associated with the National Society of Social Work, showcasing her dedication to the social work profession.
